Are You Ready to Let Our Constitution Crash & Burn?
Way back in 2021 CNN wrote an article “Chronicling Trump’s 10 Worst Abuses of Power.”
It seems almost inconsequential with all that has transpired since.
A quick search demonstrates follow-up reporting, This month CNN published “Trump’s Avalanche of Dishonesty: Fact checking 102 False Claims from This Fall.”

In 1990 and 1991 I worked for Trump Entertainment. I forgive myself only because I had no idea what he and the Republican party were destined to do to our democracy. I wrote about it back in 2018.
I don’t consider myself a political writer. In fact, until Donald Trump’s first run for President, virtually everything I published dealt with introspection and making changes in one’s life. Then I listened to the Republican primary debates in 2016.
In what seems like a life time ago, I taught sixth grade. If you recall the Republican Primary and Donald Trump’s outrageous behavior you’ll understand. He reminded me of a sixth grade student who I watched break a window, and when he turned around and saw me, he said, “I didn’t do it.”
Thus began five years of publishing articles. I advocated for political candidates, encouraged everyone to vote even if they weren’t thrilled with the Democratic party’s choice for President. Futilely I explained that not voting is the same as supporting the candidate you don’t want elected.
Now it’s happening again. I fear many citizens are tired of politics and the two presumptive candidates don’t excite them. Many will not vote. That’s unfortunate… no I take that back… It Will Be a Disaster.
Our democracy is in danger. Our Constitution is on the verge of functional death. Everyone must play a role in the 2024 Presidential election. Ours is a participatory democracy. There’s an old expression that goes: “You Snooze, You Lose. In this case inaction or indifference will lead to a very different nation than the one to which you are accustomed.
Women have lost the right to domain over their own bodies. Global warming threatens us all, right wing views are being embraced by a large portion of the population, our capitol was attacked, LGBQT+ rights are threatened, violence against religions and cultures has skyrocketed, American citizens face starvation and homelesness and American history is being re-written.
Your rights are being trampled. Informed readers know which political party is leading the charge!
I hope every concerned citizen, people who care about others, parents and young adults who will become parents will think closely about all that has transpired since Donald Trump both took and left office. Look at those who support him. Then let your conscience guide you as the 2024 election approaches.
Choose to sit back and stay uninvolved or pick up the torch and help do what it takes to protect our way of life.
